Thanksgiving Week 2004
It has been a great week. We have spent the better part of the week with family and if you count the last two weeks, we have really had some terrific family times.
Two weeks ago we went with my Mom and Dad and moms sisters to see the Biltmore House and Grove Park Inn. We had to take the day off from work but it was well worth it. Take a look at the slide show and see what we did, it even has the famous Gingerbread house contest at the Grove Park Inn that we stumbled across.
This past week, we spent much of the holiday with Melanie's parents and sisters' families. We have had a great time talking and laughing. The after Thanksgiving day sale Friday started out early for us. We were up at 4:30am to try and beat the crowds. We arrived in Hickory at 6am and quickly found out that we were the last to arrive. Sears was so crowded that we almost could not open the doors inwards to enter the store. Yes, it is true. I went over to Best Buy at 8am and they had people lined up in and out of aisles all the way around the store to make their purchases. There had to be atleast 300 people in line at one time.
Melanie and I got some new mobile phones this week and they seemed to payoff well. They have a walkie talkie feature that came in handy for getting separated in the crowds on Friday. Pretty cool too!
Over all, the week and holiday had been terrific.
